As EDOHIC Expands Coverage Across Three Senatorial Districts In a major boost to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s drive for Universal Health Coverage, the Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDOHIC), in partnership with the Rabiu Olowo Foundation, has enrolled 200 Sickle Cell Warriors into the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme. The beneficiaries - 100 from Edo South, 50 from Edo Central and 50 from Edo North- will now enjoy access to affordable, quality healthcare without financial hardship. The flag-off was held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Edo State Sickle Cell Centre, Central Hospital, Benin City, with children living with sickle cell disease, their parents and key health stakeholders in attendance. The Pentecostal Archbishop of EsanLand, Archbishop Dr. Anthony Okosun, has urged the people of Edo State, and particularly EsanLand, to “ arise and shine” in support of Governor Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as 'Akpakomuza for the developmental strides being recorded across the state.
