CHIEF OKALO ENGR. GODDAY OKOROMI AZAGBA APPRECIATES OHORDUA KINGDOM OVER GRAND CHIEFTAINCY CONFIRMATION
It was a day of joy on April 4, 2026, and a new dawn for Ohordua Kingdom as hope, progress, and unity were renewed. His Royal Majesty, Steven Ehizojie Oribhabor Ailuogierior, the Onojie of Ohordua Kingdom, conferred chieftaincy honours on seven illustrious sons and daughters of the kingdom.
The grand celebration was graced by the Traditional Council of Chiefs, community leaders, friends, and well-wishers from across Nigeria and the diaspora who gathered to honour Chief Engr. Godday Ifebhor Azagba on his installation as the Chief Okalo of Ohordua Kingdom.
While conferring the title, His Royal Majesty explained that Okalo "meaning the Front Door,” symbolizes the gateway of protection, dignity, and service to the kingdom. By this conferment, Chief Okalo is now automatically enlisted into the Ohordua Council of Chiefs (OCC), the advisory body with which the King consults on the administration and advancement of the kingdom. The seven newly installed chiefs are now entrusted to live by the dictates of their titles, serving as pillars of peace, development, and cultural preservation in Ohordua. The Onojie blessed Chief Azagba and urged him to sustain the goodwill and unity he has fostered, which continue to bring progress and development to the kingdom.
Chief Iyasele of Ohordua Kingdom, Isaac Ikekhuame, also offered prayers for Chief Azagba and his family, asking God Almighty to strengthen him as he upholds the good legacy of his late elder brother. He prayed that divine guidance and blessings would follow the new Okalo in his service to the throne and people of Ohordua.
After receiving royal blessings at the palace, Chief Azagba returned to his hometown, Ibhiedu, in Esan South East Local Government Area, Edo State, where he was warmly received by his kinsmen. The reception at the Azagba compound was filled with joy, music, gift-giving, and prayers. The community echoed with one voice: _“May this house be a place of peace, prosperity, and happiness. Amen!”
n his remarks, Chief Okalo Engr. Godday Azagba expressed profound gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Steven Ehizojie Oribhabor Ailuogierior, the Onojie of Ohordua Kingdom, for finding him worthy of the title. He also thanked the Council of Chiefs for accepting him into the revered traditional institution.
He extended appreciation to friends, associates, and well-wishers who honoured the occasion with their presence.
