BISHOP DR. OKOSUN HAILS GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO FOR DIASPORA ENGAGEMENT AND SECURITY GAINS
UROMI, EDO STATE – Bishop Dr. Anthony Okosun, a renowned clergyman and advocate for Christian participation in politics, has commended His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, for his proactive engagement with Edo sons and daughters in the diaspora, particularly in the United Kingdom.
In an exclusive chat with Esanland Update Magazine Bishop Okosun described the Governor’s London visit as a welcome development and a clear demonstration of good governance and transparency.
According to him, the partnership strategic will also attract investments from Edo experts abroad that will boost the economy of Edo State and beyond.
“Bishop Okosun stated that the Governor’s London visit is credible it will encourage Edo people abroad to engage the Governor’s agenda on security, agriculture, healthcare, job creation, infrastructure development, and experience in-service economic transformation,” he said.
The clergyman and former Esan North East Local Government Chairman, further applauded Governor Okpebholo for the systemic measures applied in tackling insecurity across Edo State, noting a significant reduction in crime rate, especially in Esanland and across the state.
He also commended the Governor’s focus on infrastructure and agriculture, stating that the provision of farming technology, fertilizers, and support to farmers will increase productivity and reduce hunger in society.
Reaffirming his commitment, Dr. Okosun disclosed that he is mobilizing bishops, pastors, and churches across Esanland to continue in prayers for peace, good health, and prosperity for the administration.
“We, the clergymen and political advocates, are speaking with one voice across Esan sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora, to join the government’s developmental strides. We are proud of our son, Governor Okpebholo, for delivering beyond expectations within a short time in office. This is indeed the Akpakomiza agenda in action,” he said.
He further called on all Edo people to support President *Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for a second term, expressing optimism that it will bring more development to Edo State and strengthen the cordial relationship with the state government.
