Esan People Must Arise and Shine" Archbishop Okosun Hails Gov. Okpebholo’s Impact Across Edo State

The Pentecostal Archbishop of EsanLand, Archbishop Dr. Anthony Okosun, has urged the people of Edo State, and particularly EsanLand, to “arise and shine” in support of Governor Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as 'Akpakomuza for the developmental strides being recorded across the state.

Archbishop Okosun made the call on Sunday, 6th September 2026,  at the 15th Anniversary Celebration of The Four Wings of God Gospel Church, Ekpoma.

The event, hosted by the church’s President and Founder, Apostle Dr. Vincent Ose, brought together nearly all Pentecostal Bishops and Pastors in EsanLand. Archbishop Dr. Andrew Iyare was also in attendance, while Archbishop Okosun served as Guest Preacher.

In his address, the EsanLand Pentecostal leader thanked his colleagues for joining in prayers for the region, saying it is his responsibility to seek the welfare of EsanLand.

He described Governor Okpebholo’s emergence as governor as “the will of God,” not a matter of chance.  

“We Esan people prayed for an Esan governor and God answered us. We are grateful to God. We are also grateful to our brothers and sisters in Edo South and Edo North for voting and supporting us,” he said.

Archbishop Okosun called on churches across EsanLand to sustain prayers for the governor, stressing that for him to complete 8 years in office, he must “deliver Edo State 90 percent for Mr. President in the forthcoming January, 2027 election.”

He noted that Akpakomuza is already bringing development “to every nook and corner of Edo State,” and urged Esan people to rally behind him.

The anniversary service featured thanksgiving, prayers for Edo State and Nigeria, and exhortations on unity and nation-building.
