OKOSODO FOUNDATION INSPECTS ONGOING UROMI MOPOL 82 MODERN EVENT CENTRE ... As Commander, ACP Ebi Okoyen, Hails Okosodo Family
The landmark project, which had its groundbreaking on August 12th, 2026, is being executed by the Foundation as part of its commitment to support government and give back to society.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Chief Okoh Okosodo, the Eni of Uromi Kingdom, who represented the initiator of the project, his son, Chief Dr. Owi Franklin Okosodo, the Omozoya of Ekpoma Kingdom.

Chief Okosodo, who said he came directly from Port Harcourt, Rivers State to perform the ceremony on behalf of his son who is currently out of the country, noted that the multi-million naira project is a non-profit venture aimed at giving the MOPOL 82 Barracks a new look, reducing the stress of officers, and bringing development closer to the people of Uromi and Esanland.
He disclosed that the project is scheduled for completion and commissioning in December 2026, to coincide with his 70th birthday celebration.
This modern Event Centre is to create a good environment and bring development closer to the people, that Government cannot do it alone. This is our way of supporting security and community growth," Chief Okosodo said.
He appealed to the community to provide a peaceful environment for the contractors and thanked His Royal Majesty, Anselm Eidenojie II, the Ojuromi of Uromi Kingdom, for creating an enabling environment for development. He also called on parents and community leaders to continue to pray for their children to succeed.
Chief Dr. Owi Franklin Okosodo the initiator of this ongoing project, the Managing Director of Calibration And Non-Destructive Services Limited, a renowned indigenous oil servicing company providing world-class Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation services across upstream and downstream operations.
An alumnus of Lumen Christi International High School, Uromi, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Oxford University, UK, and Harvard University, USA, Dr. Okosodo has continued the philanthropic legacy of his father.
Through the Okosodo Foundation, he has executed several life-changing projects, including the recent solar-powered borehole for the Idisaba-Ubierumu community, youths and women welfare, education accessibility settings for the betterment of his people.
In recognition of his humanitarian service, he has received numerous honours including an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the American University of Peace and Governance, Texas, USA, Patron of the Esan Liberation Movement Worldwide, Chieftaincy title as Omozoya of Ekpoma Kingdom, Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute, and Merit Award for Humanitarian Service by the Esan League of Media Professionals.
Receiving the delegation, the Commander of MOPOL 82, ACP Ebi Okoyen, described Chief Dr. Owi Okosodo as "an asset to Esan people" and said the Event Centre will elevate the community.
The Commander vowed to sustain efforts at ridding Edo Central of hoodlums terrorizing Uromi, Irrua, Ubiaja and other communities, noting that within one year in office, his command has significantly reduced crime rate and restored peace.
He appreciated the support of Edo State Governor, His Excellency Sen. Monday Okpebholo, and lauded the philanthropic gesture of Uromi sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora for creating a good environment and hospitality to establish the Uromi MOPOL 82 BARRACK DIVISIONAL Headquarter in Edo Central Senatorial District, Edo State, Nigeria.
"ACP Ebi, the Commander said that this uncommon gestures will be cherished by our officers and the good people of Uromi, Irrua and other Security agencies will have access for training center, event and conference center. This project initiated by Chief Dr. Owi Franklin Okosodo, a young ebullient business icon who has been supportive to security agencies, started last month of August and will be commissioned in December 2026, with the power of God Almighty.
